Today I started my first blog. I hope today is a day I will remember.
My two oldest girls were certainly counting on it.
They have been looking forward, not to my blog, but to a swim day with friends--
not gonna happen.
It's a dreary, rainy day that was much needed
(regardless of what my children would have you to believe)
here in the Mountain State.
So, I hope this can be a creative outlet and a place to....
Oh, I don't even know what I hope, but
we shall see.
For today, I am going to compose a list of some favorite things.
Pay no mind to the order. After all, this is RADrambling. ;-)
I challenge you to do the same.
Exercise your imagination...it's bored.
I LOVE:
- how God never changes
- my babies' first smiles of the day
- hugs
- my husband's hands
- the smell of the ocean
- sleeping in
- road trips
- the arrival of "lightning bugs"
- seeing the world through the eyes of a child
- late-night car rides with the windows down
- my church family
- snow-covered trees
- Thanksgiving
- watching my children discover new things
- puppy breath
- Summer thunderstorms
- iron skillets
- the smell of fresh sheets
- picking up things with my feet
- sunglasses
- my girls' sincerity and faith in prayer
- being from a small town
- floating down the river
- geocaching
- tomatoes fresh from the garden
- my whole family around the kitchen table
- hiking
- when all the socks have a mate (this never happens, but it would be my favorite)
- being barefoot
- date-night with the hubs
- crab legs
- being tickled
- fat rolls on babies
- corny jokes
- snow days
- high-fives
- family cookouts
- babies laughing in their sleep (or babies laughing....ever)
- saving the best bite for last
- making kids' crafts
- how my husband packs in all the groceries
- COFFEE---I almost forgot coffee!!!
- science fairs
- cooking competitions for dinner
- impromptu performances by my girls
- being surprised
- pinky promises
- people who spell things correctly
- sitting in the dark with the Christmas tree lights on
- today
I'll stop now because I could go on and on. Don't worry--I'll be back soon.
It's amazing how much I have to love in my life
(and this is just a tiny list, holding many trivial things).
God has blessed me more than I deserve.
Hope this list prompts you to reflect on, and be thankful for, your very own favorites. :-)
I love your list & if I were to make one, the similarities would be many with one exception ... my love and admiration for you, dear DIL, would be right there at the top! I'm excited about your bloggy journey ... in my opinion, you & "our" sweet Boochie-girl are more alike you realize ... yep, you definitely have something in common - I sense greatness in you too! (BTW, geocaching is 24? ... Are you sure? I don't believe it! ;)
